Senoko achieves 5 million manhours safety milestone
Senoko Energy reached its latest safety milestone by achieving five million manhours without any lost-time injury.
“This achievement reflects Senoko Energy’s dedication and effort in creating a safe working environment for our staff and contractors,” said Mr Brendan Wauters, President & CEO of Senoko Energy.
Senoko Energy has a holistic safety programme in place for both employees and external contractors. Initiatives such as the President & CEO Award and regular safety inspections are in place to encourage Company sections to identify ways of improving workplace safety. In order to ensure employees are kept informed of the latest developments in workplace safety, a variety of safety-related courses are regularly conducted. In addition, a demerit point system was introduced to encourage both employees and external contractors to adopt good safety practices and to take responsibility for their well-being.
Mr Wauters added: “In Senoko Energy, safety is of utmost importance to us. Everyone has a part to play in creating a safe working environment. We actively encourage our employees and our business partners to have a primary focus on safety. I would like to thank all our staff and contractors for their contribution to our safety record. As 2010 draws to a close, we are happy to end this successful year with our excellent record in safety.”
