Robert Bosch to produce solar panels in Malaysia

Robert Bosch plans to invest MYR2.2 billion or US$727.4m to set up a solar panel manufacturing plant in Penang, Malaysia.

 

Robert Bosch solar energy division head Von Hebel said the plant will be located on an 80-acre site and have an annual capacity of 800MWp for wafers and 620MWp peak for cells.

The company will also produce 640MWp of solar power plants and module production lines of 150MWp. .

The plant is expected to start production by the end of 2013.
