Empee Power gets ToR extension for 1,320 MW Tamil Nadu plant
Empee Power got another year's extension for the terms of reference of its thermal project.
This is the 1,320 MW coal based thermal plant located at the Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu.
The power developer has already been granted a ToR extension once before and had again sought another year's extension as it had been unable to secure a coal linkage for the plant and also acquire a few areas of land required for setting up the thermal power station.
Out of the total land requirement of 526 acres, the utility has so far acquired 512.45 acres of land.
The ToR extension, however, comes with some additional conditions that have been imposed on the developer. One of these is that Empee Power is now required to install a Flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) unit in one of the 600 MW units as a precautionary measure to protect the environment.
