SG, Cambodia to deepen energy cooperation

This builds on the MOU on energy cooperation inked in 2013.

Singapore and Cambodia have agreed to deepen energy cooperation, building on the memorandum of understanding the two countries signed in 2013.

The agreement was made between Singapore Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Tan See Leng and Cambodian Minister for Mines and Energy Suy Sem during the sidelines of the Virtual 40th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM).

“Singapore and Cambodia are committed to doing our part to transition to cleaner sources of energy and reaching net-zero by or around mid-century Given our shared interests, we are keen to partner with Cambodia to advance bilateral and
regional energy cooperation," Tan said.

"Such cooperation is beneficial and is a step towards realizing the broader ASEAN Power Grid vision to enhance interconnectivity, energy security and sustainability in the region," he added.
