Sembcorp terminates solar energy, battery project in Indonesia
The agreement was signed with PT PLN Batam and PT Trisurya Mitra Bersama.
Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) has terminated its agreement with PT PLN Batam and PR Trisurya Midtra Bersama for solar energy and storage development in Indonesia.
The Joint Development Agreement, signed in October 2021, provided for the development of a large-scale integrated solar and energy storage project in Indonesia.

“Sembcorp remains committed to supporting ASEAN's energy transition with reliable clean energy supply,” the statement read in part.
“The company continues to develop, and is engaged in a number of initiatives, to import energy from the region.”
The mutually agreed termination of the JDA also effectively dissolves the consortium.
