Sembcorp inks 2 long-term PPA with Equinix
This is Equinix’s first renewable energy power purchase deal in Singapore.
Sembcorp Industries subsidiary Sembcorp Power Corp signed two long-term power purchase agreements (PPA) with Equinix’s subsidiaries to supply power for its Singapore data centres, marking Equinix’s first renewable energy PPA in the country.
In a statement, Sembcorp said it will supply a maximum capacity of 75 megawatts-peak (MWp) from its solar assets, and 30 MW from its power generation portfolio for up to 18 years.

“The PPA with Equinix increases Sembcorp’s long-term contracted capacity for its gas-fired power generation portfolio in Singapore from 74% to 77%,” Sembcorp said. “These Equinix PPAs collectively add to Sembcorp’s existing long-term PPA contracts with customers, ensuring a strong and stable stream of operating cash flow for the Group,” it added.
Sembcorp is Singapore’s largest solar energy provider with a portfolio of 727 MWp.
