EDPR Sunseap, SMRT Trains to power Bishan Deport with solar
EDPR Sunseap will install 1.56MWp of solar capacity to the deport in 2023.
EDPR SunSeap and SMRT Trains (SMRT) have expanded their partnership to include powering the Bishan Depot with solar energy.
Under the Power Purchase Agreement, EDPR Sunseap will install a photovoltaic system with a capacity of 1.56 megawatt-peak upon its completion in 2023.
“With the additional solar panels, SMRT’s total solar energy generation will be able to meet the non-traction energy needs of our first and busiest depot – Bishan Depot,” SMRT Trains President, Lam Sheau Kai, said.
“SMRT will continue to find opportunities to adopt sustainable practices and reduce our carbon footprint, in line with the Singapore Green Plan 2030.”
