The tech company will purchase all energy exported from EDPR’s SolarNova 8 project.
EDP Renewables (EDPR), has entered into a 20-year agreement with Microsoft to decarbonise the company's operations.
Under the collaboration, Microsoft will purchase all the renewable energy exported to the grid from EDPR’s SolarNova 8 project, which has a capacity of up to 200 megawatts peak (MWp).
The project, as part of Singapore’s SolarNova programme, is set to install solar capacity on more than 1,000 public housing buildings and over 100 government-owned buildings in the country
Meanwhile, the long-term contract will also support the development of new solar projects and is the second agreement signed between both companies in Singapore, following a collaboration for clean energy in 2018.
