ReNew Power commissions 143MW solar project
A tariff of ~$0.087/kWh has been set for the Telangana-based project.
ReNew Power, a renewable energy project developer, commissioned a 143 MW solar project at Dichpally, Telangana. The project was being developed under the Telangana State Solar Policy (Group 2), according to Mercom Capital Group.
"ReNew Power had won the contract by quoting a tariff of Rs.5.5949 (~$0.087)/kWh. Power purchase agreement for the entire 143 MW capacity has been signed with Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd., for a 25-year period," Mercom said.
Mercom previously reported, ReNew Power added 1,056 MW of renewable energy capacity in financial year (FY) 2016-17. The company is expecting to commission another 65 MW of solar in Telangana by the end of April 2017, stated Mercom’s source at ReNew Power.
According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, ReNew Power has commissioned solar projects aggregating 745 MW and solar projects aggregating 346 MW are under various stages of development.
