Philippine IPP AC Energy eyes 69MW wind park expansion

It eyes boosting Pagudpud wind farm's capacity to 150MW.

North Luzon Renewable Energy Corp is targeting a 69MW expansion of its Pagudpud wind farm. AC Energy, which operates the currently 81MW wind facility, has already applied for a service contract and is on stand by for an approval by the Department of Energy.

CEO Eric Francia said in an interview with a local newspaper, "We’re working on that [and] we want to be on ‘push-button’ mode by the time policies intended to help make renewable energy play out in a competitive ecosystem for the domestic industry [are in place].”

Other investors in NLREC are Mitsubishi Corporation’s Diamond Generating Asia Ltd, UPC Philippines, and the Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure Fund.
