Japan gears up to launch near-shore wind auctions in Kitakyushu
2,687-ha of area off the city port will be leased.
Japan's Kitakyushu city is preparing the lease of 2,687ha-area off the city port to firms that are interested to build a near-shore wind park in the location.
Project guideline documentation will continue to be sent until October 18. Registrations for the auction are accepted starting August 19 until September 9, while bids can come in starting October 3 to October 18. The best bidder will be declared late January 2017.
Kitakyushu's government did not provide information on the wind park's potential capacity.
