Drought forces Adani Power to shut down 2,640-MW units in Tiroda plant
4 out of 5 units have been closed.
Adani Power shuts down 4 units of 660MW each at Tiroda Plant in Maharashtra due to acute water shortage. Only 1 unit is currently active and working.
Tiroda Power Plant gets water under a long term arrangment from Dhapewada Project of Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation. "Due to drought condition in the State of Maharashtra, the water dam has dried up and is unable to supply water to the Tiroda Power Plant," it said in an announcement via the National Stock Exchange of India.
The production from these 4 units will resume once water is available.
