Asia's big wigs launch Asia Wind Energy Association
It is currently pooling membership applications.
Company executives and stakeholders in Asia's wind industry have launched an association for both onshore and offshore wind energy in the Asia-Pacific region.
Asia Wind Energy Association (AsiaWEA) will be the body that coordinates international policies, manage communications, provide research and analyses, and extend sercices to support members' needs for development.
“Our mission is to establish and promote wind power as the solution to the region’s rapidly growing energy demand and environmental challenges, providing meaningful benefits to the region as a whole”, said Edgare Kerkwijk, one of the founders and board members of the association, in a press release.
"This month we will start with receiving membership applications, while the official membership year will start from January 2017.” added Garima Singhal, membership coordinator for the Asia Wind Energy Association.
AsiaWEA will be holding its firs Asia Wind Energy Conference in October 2017 which will be co-located with the Singapore International Energy Week.
