Acciona Energia acquires 80% share in Philippines’ Freya Renewables

This will add 880 MW of projects to the company’s portfolio.

Acciona Energia acquired an 80% stake in Philippine firm Freya Renewables to expand its presence in the country.

In a statement, the company said the acquisition will add 880 megawatts (MW) of projects under development to its portfolio.

Acciona also announced that it will soon develop a 150 MW solar power plant in Daanbantay in Cebu province, which will be the Philippines’ first public-private partnership for solar power.

The company has previously announced its development of a 156 MW wind farm in the municipality of Pantabangan and began the construction of the 100 MW Kalayaan 2 wind farm in the province of Laguna
