JSW Energy, NTPC sign deal for 700 MW solar project
The agreement will run for 25 years.
JSW Renew Energy Thirteen Limited, a step-down unit of JSW Energy Limited, has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited for ISTS/STU-connected solar capacity of 700 megawatts.
In a statement, JSW Energy said the power will be supplied for 25 years with a tariff of INR2.59 per kilowatt hour.
The project will be commissioned by June 2026.
JSW Energy’s current solar pipeline capacity stands at 3.2 gigawatts (GW) with PPAs signed for 2 GW.
The company has 18.2 GW of generation capacity (7.7 GW operational, 2.1 GW under construction, 8.3 GW RE pipeline) and 16.2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of energy storage (battery and hydro). It aims to reach 20 GW and 40 GWh by 2030 and is committed to carbon neutrality by 2050.
