
India's north east is new hub for power generation
Close to 50,000 MW.
This is the capacity addition the Indian government targets for the north east region.
Four generation projects totaling 495 MW in the Kameng basin have been given connectivity.
These are under four developers, namely KSK Dibbin Hydro Power Private Limited, Patel Hydro Private Limited, Adishankar Khuitam Power Private Limited and SEW Nafra Power Corporation Limited.
All works are in full swing to firm up the transmission system for power evacuation from the projects.
A total of 19 generation project developers have applied for connectivity or long term access to ensure that 11,500 MW is evacuated from the NER by the end of 12th plan or early 13th plan period.
The transmission system for balance projects is under discussion and will be finalized on basis of the progress of individual projects.
