Indian state Jammu and Kashmir eyes bids for 400MW hydro project

The state government of Jammu and Kashmir in India is seeking bids from power companies to develop a 400MW Karthai hydro electric power project.

 

The pre-qualification tender application is expected to launch in December.

The capacity of the Karthai-I HEP project is expected to increase from 240MW to 400MW, according to Shaleen Kabra, Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation managing director.

In addition, a proposal for the 990MW Karthai-II unit is in its advanced stages, reports PTI.
