AES unveil power electronics factory in India
AES Power Solutions unveiled its power electronic factory in India.
The 80,000 sq ft factory, its first in India and located on the Bangalore-Mysore highway, will produce the company’s two successful solar inverter series PV 250 and PV 500. The facility has a capacity to manufacture products generating 400 MW per year.
“With the new plant in which about Rs 100 crore has been invested, we forsee production of uninterrupted power supplies,” SL Sridhar Murthy, managing director, AES Power Solutions (India), said. “India invests high amounts of money in solar energy and is one of the most important markets for AEG PS. With a local production, we are strengthening our customer relationship in focusing the specific demands,” Horst J Kayser, Chief Executive Officer of AEG Power Solutions said.
“We are focusing on our two complementary operating business units Renewable Energy Solutions and Energy Efficiency Solutions which are serving customers worldwide,” Murthy said.
From a turnover of 1.5 million euros in 2010, the firm is looking at 15 million euros this year, Murthy said, adding the firm already has a 13 per cent share of the solar power inverter market in India and is “expecting to go beyond 1 gigawatt next year, from the present 300 MW”.
Apart from its OEM customers like Tata BP Solar, M V Solar and Vikram Solar, the firm is also looking EPC players like L&T and Wipro, he said.
