India's state-owned MSEDCL launches 1.3GW tender for solar power projects

MSEDCL has a tariff of US$4.1c/kWh for these projects.

India's state-owned Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has invited bids to procure 1.3 GW of ground-mounted solar projects in 29 districts in Maharashtra with 25 MW or 50 MW of maximum capacity in each district.

The projects will be developed under the ‘Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana.’

Project developers are authorised to bid for a minimum capacity of 2 MW per district, and up to a maximum of 10 MW for individual project capacity until 17 May 2021. The company has set a ceiling tariff of INR3.05/kWh (US$4.1c/kWh).

The last date to submit the bids is 17 May 2021. The pre-bid meeting will take place on 30 April 2021.

The tender was originally scheduled in 2019 but was put on hold because of the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections as developers wanted to wait for the policy commitment of the new government.
