Haryana accuses NCL of supplying poor coal

Haryana Power is blaming Northern Coalfields Limited for the reduced efficiency of its coal-based thermal power station at Panipat.

 

The former asserts that the latter supplied low coal quality from its collieries at Block-B-I, Krishanshilla and Dudhichua.

In addition, the Haryana is unable to unload the entire quantity of coal supplied by the rakes in one go, resulting in high detention time and demurrage charges.

Panipat Thermal Power Station has a total installed generation capacity of 1367.8 MW comprising of four Units of 110 MW each, two units of 210 MW each and two units of 250 MW each. PTPS is divided into two thermal power stations, namely PTPS-1, comprising of first four units of 110 MW each, and PTPS-2, comprising of the other four units.
