Ming Yang wins wind turbine contract at offshore wind farm
Will supply 29 SCD wind turbines.
Chinese wind turbine maker Ming Yang Wind Power has wn a deal to construct and supply a 87 MW portion of a 100 MW offshore wind tender near Zhuhai Guishan Island in Guangdong, China.
The winning bid will see the company supply 29 super compact drive (SCD) wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 3 MW. This is in excess of 85% of the aggregate 100 MW available for this tender in the first tranche of this project.
The wind project is to be developed by Southern Offshore Wind Power Joint Development Company controlled by China Southern Power Grid Ltd. Ming Yang will provide a complete technology and construction solution including wind turbines, turbine towers and foundation structures and project management. Construction will begin in October 2013 and be completed by the end of 2014.
