Indo-UK Green Energy Forum organized
Aims to accelerate activities in clean energy.
The launch of a green energy forum involving India and the United Kingdom is expected to enhance and accelerate Indo-UK activities in clean energy, said UK Minister for Department of Energy and Climate Change Baroness Verma.
“It will help in introducing long-term and sustainable commercial collaboration in clean energy and especially with a reference to power and energy sector," she said.
She stressed energy conservation and efficiency was the concern of every economy today and there was a need for governments and industry to collaborate and work together to build on common goals in energy efficiency
"We all share common difficulties around energy and globally we recognize that it is the concern of every economy," Verma said.
She described the Green Energy Forum as a very good vehicle to bring together an engagement with business and policy makers, think-tanks and politicians.
"A range of policy instruments have been put in place in the UK to help industry and consumers build on energy efficiency measures which have yielded results. The green sector has witnessed a growth in jobs and businesses," Verma said.
