Malaysia seriously considering nuclear energy

But is also developing green technology and seeking new natural sources.

The government through the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation or Mosti is looking into Malaysia’s preparedness to develop nuclear energy as an alternative source in the future while monitoring the use of all existing natural resources.

Mosti said research from the Malaysian Nuclear Agency about developing nuclear as the main source of energy was not intended to replace existing natural resources but to diversify sources in producing electricity.

The government, however, has yet to decide to develop nuclear energy as a source of electricity power in the country.

Mosti secretary-general Datuk Dr Rosli Mohamed recently launched the 2013 Malaysian Nuclear Customers Day and witnessed the exchange of cooperation agreement document between the Malaysian Nuclear Agency and 10 private companies.
